ANSWER = 24

SOLUTION

Given

a and b are roots of equation

x^2 - 6x + 6 = 0

FIND VALUE OF A^2 + B^2

Let equation = x^2 - 6x + 6 = 0

sum of roots = a + b = -b / a = 6

products of roots = ab = c / a = 6

FORMULA OF A^2 + B^2

=> A^2 + B^2 = ( a + b ) ^2 - 2ab

=> ( 6 ) ^2 - 2 (6)

=> 36 - 12

=> 24 = ANSWER
