α {}^{2} +β{}^{2}  \\ =  (α + β) {}^{2}  - 2αβ \\    = \ \frac{- 3}{2}  {}^{2}  - 2 \frac{ - 6}{2} \\   = \frac{9}{4 }  + 6 \\ \\   = ( \frac{9 + 24}{4} ) =  \frac{35}{4}
