Explanation:

a=x^3y^2=x^9y^2

b=xy^3=(xy)(xy)(xy)

as x and y are positive prime so" a" will be greater than "b" as 9y^2 will be greater than 3.

hence as per HCF rule the least exponent is taken

a=x^9y^2

b=x^3y^3

HCF= x^3
