If a and b are whole numbers, then a-b is a whole number only when a is greater than b.

For example,

5-3 = 2 is a whole number

7-1 = 6 is a whole number

100-90 = 10 is a whole number

Here a is greater than me.

3-5 = -2 is not a whole number

1-7 = -6 is not a whole number

90-100 = -10 is a whole number

Here,b is greater than a

But a-b is not a whole number when b is greater than a.

a-b is a whole number when and only a is greater than me.

Hope it helps
