Given quadratic polynomial is f(x) = 3x2 - 5x - 2

Again, α and β are the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial.

So, α + β = -(-5)/3 = 5/3

and α * β = -2/3

(i) α2 + β2 = (α + β)2 - 2 * α * β

= (5/3)2 - 2 * (-2/3)

= 25/9 + 4/3

= (25 * 1 + 4 * 3)/9 [LCM(3, 9) = 9]

= (25 + 12)/9

= 37/9
