For two degree polynomial ax^2+ bx+ c , two roots are possible say p and q
now
p+ q = -b/a first equation
p×q = c/a second equation
now in your question given that
a and 1/a are the two roots
now here a = 4 , c= k-4
values put in 2nd equation , we get
ax1/a = k-4/4
1 = k- 4/4
k-4 = 4
k = 4+4 = 8.
