Answer:

a and b are the roots .

1/a+1/b=(a+b)/ab

6 is the sum of roots and 12 is the product of roots means

a+b=6

and ab=12

general form of quadratic equation:

x^2+(a+b)x+ab=0

therefore

1/a+1/b=(a+b)/ab=6/12=>1/5=>0.5
