Hey mate !!

Here's the answer !!

Given that:

a : b = 1.5 : 3.5

=> a / b = 1.5 / 3.5

=> a / b = 3 / 7

=> b = 7a / 3   -----( 1 )

Also it is given that:

b : c = 5 : 6

=> b / c = 5 / 6

Substitute the value of b in the above equation.

=> 7a / 3 / c = 5 / 6

=> 7a / 3c = 5 / 6

=> a / c = 5 / 6 * 3 / 7

=> a / c = 15 / 42

On further simplification we get,

=> a / c = 5 / 14

Hope my answer helps !!

Cheers !!

hi

aim : If a:b =1.5 : 3.5 and b:c=5 : 6 find a:c

a:b =1.5 : 3.5   :  b:c=5 : 6

so then,

1.5/3.5 = 15/35 = 3/7

a:b::b:c = 1.5:3.5 ::5 : 6

since b/c  = 5/6

b  = 5c/6

so,

we have to find a:c

now lets put b  = 5c/6 in a:b

a:b = a/5c/6  = 1.5/3.5

a:b = a/5c/6  = 3/7

a = 3/7 * 5c/6

now let remove c

a:c = 3/7 * 5/6

a:c = 15/42

or

a:c = 5/14

hope it helps u

:)
