Solution:-

Given,

ab = 18_____(1)

a+b = 10_______(2)

Squaring on both sides___for (2)

(a+b)² = 10²

a² + b² + 2ab = 100

a²+b² +2×18 = 100

a²+b²+36 = 100

a²+b² = 100 - 36

= 64
