hey

a + b = 14

a = 14 - b ..... (1)

ab = 20....... (2)

sub (1) in (2)

(14 - b)(b) = 20

-b^2 + 14b = 20

b^2 - 14b + 20 = 0

b^2 = 14b - 20

IN THE SAME WAY

a^2 = 14a - 20

a^2 - b^2 = 14a - 14b - 20 + 20

a^2 - b^2 = 14(a - b)
