Answer: 8 : 21

Step-by-step explanation:

A : B = 2 : 3 .....(i)

B : C = 4 : 7 .....(ii)

Multiply eq.(i) by '4' && eq.(ii) by '3'

A : B = 2*4 : 3*4 = 8:12

B : C = 4*3 : 7*3 = 12:21

[To make the value of 'B' same we multiplied accordingly]

A:C = 8:21

A/B=2×4/3×4=8/12

B/C=4×3/7×4=12/21

Therefore,A:C=8:21

seemajhafea17: why we multiply by 4
Anonymous: We multiplied by '4' so that the value of 'B' in the first ratio becomes equal to value of 'B' in second ratio (here it was multiplied by 3).
seemajhafea17: ya got it thanks
