Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A:B = 2:3

B:C = 7:1

To find:-

Find the value of (A + B + C)/(A + C)?

Solution:-

Given that

A : B = 2 : 3

It can be written as

=> A/B = 2/3

=> A/B = (2/3)×(7/7)

=> A/B = (2×7)/(3×7)

=>A/B = 14/21

=> A:B = 14:21---------(1)

and

B:C = 7:1

It can be written as

=> B/C = 7/1

=> B/C = (7/1)×(3/3)

=> B/C = (7×3)/(1×3)

=> B/C = 21/3

=> B:C = 21:3--------(2)

From (1)&(2)

A : B = 14 : 21

B : C = 21 : 3

A : B : C = 14 : 21 : 3

Let A = 14X

Let B = 21X

Let C = 3X

Now,

(A + B + C)/(A + C)

=> (14X+21X+3X)/(14X+3X)

=> 38X/17X

=> 38/17

Answer:-

The value of (A + B + C)/(A + C) for the given problem is 38/17

Used formulae:-

  • a:b can be written as a/b
