Given:

  • A:B = 2:3
  • B:C = 5:6

To Find:

  • The value of A:C

Solution:

A:B = A/B = 2/3  → {equation 1}

B:C = B/C = 5/6 → {equation 2}

Now multiplying equations 1 and 2 we get,

⇒ A/B×B/C = 2/3×5/6

In the above step "B' gets canceled.

⇒ A/C = 10/18

In the above step, we further simplified the numerator and denominator by dividing them with a divisible number.

⇒ A/C = A:C = 5/9

∴ The value of A:C = 5:9
