Answer:

Given,

a-b=3 ......(i)

a² + b² =11 .......(ii)

From (i)

a - b=3

Squaring both sides,

(a - b)² = 3²

=> a² -2ab + b² = 9

=> a² + b² - 2ab = 9

=> 11 - 2ab = 9 [Substititing value of a² + b² from (ii)]

=> -2ab = 9 - 11

=> -2ab = -2

=> ab = -2/-2

=> ab = 1

Ans) The value of ab is 1.
