if a+b =3 and a-b = 2 . find the value of a,b and a^2+b^2​

Given that:-

a + b = 3 , & ab = 2

NOW,

we know that:-

(a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

Now,

(a + b) = 3

[ On SQUARING both side]

(a + b )² = 3²

a² + b² + 2ab = 9

=> a² + b² + 2×2 = 9

=> a² + b² = 9 - 4

=> (a² + b²) = 5
