Hi,
According to the problem given,
a - b = 3 ---( 1 )
a² + b² = 29----( 2 )
We know that the algebraic identity,
( a - b )² = a² + b² - 2ab
3² = 29 - 2 ab
[ From ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) ]
9 = 29 - 2ab
2ab = 29 - 9
2ab = 20
ab = 20/2
ab = 10
I hope this helps you.

Answer:
a-b=3
a²+b²=29
(a-b)² = a² + b² -2ab
3² = 29 - 2ab
27 = 29 - 2ab
2ab = 2
ab = 1
