hi

given a/b = 4/5 and b/c = 15/16

multiply a/b and b/c

a/b * b/c = 4/5 * 15/16 =

a/c = 3/4 ----->(1)

c^2 - a^2 / c^2 + a^2 =

a= 3/4 c ( from 1)

substitue the value of a in question

c^2 - 9/16 c^2 / c^2 + 9/16 c^2 =

16 c^2 - 9 c^2/16 / 16 c^2 + 9 c^2/16 =

both the 16s get cancelled...

(16 - 9) c^2 / (16 + 9) c^2 =

= 7 / 25 (c^2 gets cancelled in numerator and denominator)

= 7/25

hope this helps............
