If a + b = 4 and ab = -12, find (i) a – b (ii) a2 - b2.​

Answer:

a+b=4

ab=-12.

a=-12/b

put this in first equation.

therefore,-12/b+b=4

-12+2b=4b

-12=4b-2b

-12=2b

b=-6

therefore,a=4+6=10

A-B=10-(-6)=16

a^2-b^2=10^2-(-6)^2=100+36=136
