given a-b=5_________(1)
also a2+b2=49
we know that :-
a2+b2=(a+b)(a-b)
49=(a+b)(5)
a+b=49/5___________(2)
from eqn 1 we have
a=5+b
now putting the value of a in eqn 2 we get
5+b+b=49/5
2b=49/5-5
2b=24/5
b=24/5×1/2
b=12/5
therefore a=5+b=5+12/5=37/5
therfore answer a=37/5 and b=12/5
Verification given a-b=5
therfore 37/5-12/5=25/5=5 Hence verified.
