Given :

  • a + b = 5
  • a - b = 3

To find :

  • 8ab (a² + b²)

Solution :

Take both equation square

a² + b² = 5

a² - b² = 3

2a² = 8

a² = 8/2

a² = 4

a = 4

Putting a = 4

a + b 5

4 + b = 5

taking square

4 + b² = 5

b² = 5 - 4

b² = 1

b = 1

Finding 8ab (a² + b²)

8 × 4 × 1 (4² + 1)

16 + 4 + 1

Answer is 21.
