if a-b=5 and a square +b square=37,find the value of ab.

Hi,

Since,
=> (a - b)^2 = (a^2 + b^2) - (2ab)
Therefore, substituting the given values,
=> (5)^2 = 37 - 2(ab)
=> 2ab = 37 - 25
=> 2ab = 12
=> ab = 12/2
=> ab = 6 (ans)
