If a+b=6 and a.b=12 find the value of a2+b2

a^2 +b^2

=(a+b)^2 - 2ab

=6^2 - 2×12

=36- 24

=12

Given , a + b = 6 , ab = 12


since we know that






a^2 + b^2 = ( a + b )^2 - 2ab





therefore ,



a^2 + b^2 = ( 6 )^2 - 2 ( 12 )




= 36 - 24 = 12
