a+b=7 ----------1)

a-b=3 ----------2)

Add eqn 1 and 2

so, a+b=7 + a-b=3

+b and -b will get reduced.

so, we get 2a= 10

so, a =5

Put the value of a=5 in eqn 1

so we get, 5+b=7

so, b=2

we have got the values of a and b

a² + b² = 5² + 2²

i.e, 25+4

=29

so, a²+b²=29
