if a/b =b/c and a,b,c>0 then show that, 1) (a+b+c) (b-c) = ab-c²

Answer:

by normal mult we get (a+b+c) (b-c) = ab-ac+b²-c²

but we know a/b =b/c so b²=ac

(a+b+c) (b-c) = ab-(b²)+b²-c²

(a+b+c) (b-c) = ab-c²

hence proved
