We have to find, A × B and B × A.
Show that A × B ≠ B × A.
Solution:
A × B = {a, b, c} × {r, s}
= {(a, r), (a, s), (b, r), (b, s), (c, r), (c, s)}
∴ A × B = {(a, r), (a, s), (b, r), (b, s), (c, r), (c, s)}
B × A = {r, s} × {a, b, c}
= {(r, a), (r, b), (r, c), (s, a), (s, b), (s, c)}
∴ B × A = {(r, a), (r, b), (r, c), (s, a), (s, b), (s, c)}
Also, A × B ≠ B × A, shown.
