The value of a in terms of b is a=\frac{3}{2}b.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If a,b,c are in an A.P and a-c=b.

To find : The value of a in terms of b ?

Solution :

If a,b,c are in an A.P then we say that 2b=a+c  ....(1)

because the difference between two consecutive terms of A.P are same.

As we want value of a in terms of b,

So, we substitute c from a-c=b in (1)

2b=a+(a-b)

2b=a+a-b

2a=2b+b

2a=3b

a=\frac{3}{2}b

Therefore, the value of a in terms of b is a=\frac{3}{2}b.
