If a , b , c are in AP then 2b = a + c

Given :

a , b , c are in AP

To find :

The result

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Find common difference

Here it is given that a , b , c are in AP

First term = a

Second Term = b

Third term = c

Common Difference = b - a

Also common difference = c - b

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the result

From above we get

b - a = c - b

⇒ b + b = a + c

⇒ 2b = a + c

If a , b , c are in AP then 2b = a + c
