a, b, c are the roots of the equation x³-4x²+6.5x+3.5=0 -------------------(1)
Then,
a+b+c=-(-4)=4
ab+bc+ca=6.5
abc=-3.5
∴, a²+b²+c²
=(a+b+c)²-2(ab+bc+ca)
=(4)²-2×(6.5)
=16-13
=3 Ans.
