if a b c are the sides of a triangle and s be its semiperimeter and (s-a)=90 (s-b)=50 (s-c)=10 then find value of a

Solution:

a,b,c are sides of a triangle.

Formula for Semi perimeter,

→ S = \frac{a+b+c}{2}

→ a + b + c = 2 S  ----(A)

Also, s-a = 90,-----(1)

s-b =50,--------(2)

s-c= 10-------(3)

Adding (1) ,(2) and (3), we get

→3 s -a-b-c =90+50 +10

→ 3 s -(a+b+c) = 150

→3 S - 2 S = 150 [ Using A]

→ S = 150

As,→ S-a= 90

→150 -a =90

→ a = 150 - 90

a =60
