a-b=4  a+b= 6    find a^2 + b^2
a-b+a+b= 4+6=10
2a= 10
5+b=6
b=6-5=1
b=1
a= 10/2=5
therefore,  a^2+b^2=25+1=26

hope this help  you:)!!
