As given: the value of (a-b) is 9 greater than the value of (c+d)

∴ (a-b) = (c+d) + 9 ------ (1)

Now the value of (a+b) is 3 lesser than the value of (c-d)

∴ (a+b) =(c-d) - 3 --------(2)

Adding both we get

\begin{gathered}a-b+a+b = c+d+9+c-d-3\\\\\Rightarrow2a= 2c+6\\\\\Rightarrow2a-2c=6\\\\\Rightarrow2(a-c)=6\\\\\Rightarrow(a-c)= \dfrac{6}{2} =3\end{gathered}

Hence, the value of (a-c) is 3
