If (a/b) is a fraction, then a and b are integers.

  • In a fraction there are two terms which are known as numerator and denominator.
  • Now, both the numerator and denominator have to be integers (negative or positive).
  • A decimal number cannot be the numerator or denominator of a fraction because a decimal number is a fraction itself.
  • And, we also cannot say that numerator and denominator have to be whole numbers because whole numbers are only positive in value. But, both numerator and denominator can have numbers of negative value.
  • So, the correct answer will be integers.
