Since (a,b) is mid point so

(a,b) = { (10+k)/2 , (-6+4)/2}

here,
a = (10+k)/2
and
b= -2/2 = -1
put a=(10-k)/2 and b=-5 in a-2b=18

(10+k)/2-2 (-1) =18

10+k+2=36
k= 36-12 = 24

now
AB =
 \sqrt{(x2 - x1) {}^{2}(y2 - y1) {}^{2}  }
 =  \sqrt{(24 - 10) {}^{2}(6 + 4) {}^{2}  }
 =  \sqrt{14 {}^{2} \times 10 {}^{2}  }
= 14×10
= 140

hope it helps you
