Answer:

answer is (b) k = 22

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that midpoint = {x₁ + x₂/2 , y₁ + y₂/ 2}

                                 =>  x₁ = 10 , x₂ = k , y₁ = -6 , y₂ = 4

              a = 18+2b --------------- (i)   substitute on (a,b)

so ,

  (18 + 2b , b) = {(10 + k) / 2 , (-6 + 4) / 2}

= {(10 + k)/2 , -1} = (18 + 2b , b )

then , (10 + k )/ 2 = (18 + 2b) ------------------- (ii)

and b = (-1)   ---------- substitute on (ii)

=   18 + (2(-1)) = (10 + k) / 2

=   18 - 2 = (10 + k )/ 2

=   16 = (10 + k)/ 2

=    32 = 10 + k

k = 32 - 10 = 22

Your answer is (22 , 4 )   or k = 22

hope this helps u
