In the above Question , the following information is given -

a : b = 3 : 5

b : c = 6 : 7 .

To find -

Find the ratio of a : b : c .

Solution -

Given -

a : b = 3 : 5

b : c = 6 : 7 .

Now ,

The antecedent and the following precedent are 6 and 5 respectively.

Now , we need to take their LCM .

LCM of 6 and 5 -

=> 30.

So , we should multiply the first ratio by 6 and the second by 5 .

a : b = 3 : 5

6a : 6b = a : b = 3 × 6 : 5 × 6 = 18 : 30

5b :5c = b : c = 6 × 5 : 7 × 5 = 30 : 35

Now , the required ratio between a, b and c becomes -

=> a : b : c = 18 : 30 : 35 .

This is the answer .
