Answer:

Given

A+B=R

A+2B is perpendicular to A

then

w.k.t

by property of vector dot product between a+2b and a is equal to 0

(a+2b) × (a) = 0

a×a +2b×a =0

a^2 + 2b×a= 0 eq1

so as they given a+b=r

a=r-b eq2

substitute eq2 in eq2

(r-b)^2 + 2b× (r-b) =0

r^2-2r×b + b^2 +2b×r-2b^2=0

r^2-b^2=0

(r-b) ×(r+b) = 0

r=+b or r=-b
