Given :  a ball is thrown upward with  velocity ‘v', attained a height of  100m.

To Find : height attained if  initial velocity of ball is 2v.

Solution:

Initial KE = (1/2)mv²

Initial PE = 0

At Highest point

KE = 0

PE = mgh

=>  (1/2)mv² = mgh

=> v² = 2gh

=> v² = 2g(100)

=> v² = 200g

if v = 2v

then

mgh = (1/2)m(2v)²

=> h = 2v²/g

=> h = 2 * 200g /g

=> h = 400

height attained  = 400 m
