if a ball is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 40 m/s . what is the velocity of the ball after 2 sec.

Here we are given
u (initial velocity) = 40
time = 2
acceleration = -10 ( due to gravity)
Here it's negative because it is in opposite direction to ball
Here we have to find v (final velocity)

v = u + at
v = 40 + (-10 × 2)
v = 40 - 20
v = 20m/s


If we assume a as -9.8 the answer would be

v = u + at
v = 40 + (-19.6)
v = 20.4m/s
