Effective acceleration (a) = 10m/s^2

Height (h) = 100m

h = ut + 1/2×(a)(t)^2

100 = 0(t) + 1/2×(10)(t)^2

100 = 5t^2

5t^2 = 100

t^2 = 20

t = √20

t = 2√5

t = 4.47 sec

Hence, the ball strikes the ground after 4.47 sec it was released.
