Explanation:

Time taken for both path will be same if initial velocity in downward direction is same.Since the downward acceleration is same for both the cases therefore downward force will also be same in both the cases. Any horizontal component of velocity or force will not affect the vertical motion.

Using second law of kinematics,

S=ut+0.5at^2 where distance to be covered,initial velocity and downward acceleration is same , you will get same value of t.
