The average velocity of the body is 0.15 m/s

Explanation:

Given data:

  • Speed of body = 2 m/s
  • Radius of circle = 1 m
  • Degree of revolution =  1320°
  • To Find: Velocity of the body = ?

Solution:

Distance covered = ( 1320 / 360)  x 2 π x 1   = 23.04  m

Time = Distance / Speed

Time Taken  = 23.04 / 2 = 11.52  sec

1320 = 3  x  360 + 240   ( 120 deg more left to complete circle)

Now find the displacement:

Displacement  = √ (1^2 + 1^2 - 2 (1) (1) Cos (120 )

Displacement  = √ 3

Displacement  = 1.732 m

Average velocity  =  Displacement / Time =   1.732 / 11.52

Average velocity =  0.15 m/s

Thus the average velocity of the body is 0.15 m/s
