if a body is moving in a straight line then the magnitude of it's speed and velocity will be equal. why ​

the speed is a scalar quantity whe the velocity is a vector quantity ....it's magnitude usually remains same unless and until it's travelling in a circular path ..hence the magnitude of speed and velocity remains same while traveling in straight direction
