Given : If a body is projected vertically upwards from the top of the tower with a velocity of 14.7 m /sec reaches the foot of the tower in 1 sec

To Find : time of free fall

Solution:

V = u  + at

Velocity at top v = 0  ( free Wall Starta from here)

u = initial velocity = 14.7 m/s

a = g = 9.8 m/s²

as body is thrown upward a will be - ve

=> 0  = 1.47 + (-9.8)t

=> t = 14.7/9.8

=> t = 1.5

1.5 Secs is already taken to reach at top

Hence its not possible  that body reaches foot of tower in 1 Sec

Hence there is mistake in data

time of Free fall = Time taken to reach foot of tower - time taken to reach at top
