If a body is released from the aeroplane in flight ? Is it an example of projectile ?

If the body is released from the top of the aeroplane then it will have only horizontally velocity and zero vertically velocity . This is just same as we are dropping a ball from the top of a tower, which will fall horizontally and hit the ground. And it is parabolic motion that is projectile motion.
