If a body starts from rest, it starts moving. that means the change in velocity is positive. That means there is a POSITIVE acceleration, in the direction of motion of the object. Its magnitude is the Causing Force / mass.

when a body is initially at rest then it can be accelerated by applying a net force on it. This acceleration is given by force acting on the object divided by its mass.
