Answer:

Let the point A with the initial position of the object.

The object travels from A and gines back to A as it travels around the circumference completing one rotation.

So, the circumference will be its distance travelled.

Radius given is 14 cm.

Hence, 2πr

➸ 2×22/7×14

➸ 2×22×2

➸ 44×2

➸ 88 cm

And the displacement will be 0 as the initial position and the final position of the object is same.

TERMINOLOGY

  • Distance is the total path travelled.
  • Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the object.
  • Speed is the total distance travelled in a period of time.
  • Velocity is the displacement of the object in a time period.
  • Distance and speed are both scalar quantities.
  • Velocity and displacement are vector quantities.
