If a boy said that he was 15 years old before 2 days and next year he will be 18 years old . Explain ?​

It is January 1. Two days ago, the day before your birthday on December 30, you were 15. On Dec 31 last year (one day ago), you turned 16. On Dec 31 this year, you will turn 17. On Dec 31 next year, you will turn 18.
