Answer:

A bucket, completely filled with water, weighs 30 kg. When 4/5 of it is filled with water, it weighs 26 kg. What is the weight of the empty bucket?

Weight of the bucket when completely filled with water = 30kg

Weight of the bucket when 4/5 part is filled with water = 26kg

Assume the weight of bucket as X kg.

Therefore,

(Total weight of bucket filled with 5/5 parts of water ) - (Weight of bucket filled with 4/5 parts of water) = (Weight of 1/5 parts of water)

30+X−(26+X)=Weightof1/5partofwater

=>30+X−26−X

=>4

So, if 1/5 part of water weighs 4kg, then weight of water completely filled in the bucket (5/5) =

4 * 5 = 20kg.

Since, weight of the bucket + water completely filled = 30kg.

Therefore,

20kg + X kg = 30 kg

X = 10 kg.

So, Weight of the bucket is 10kg.
