U= initial velocity= 80 km/h = 22.2 m/s
v= final velocity = 60 km/h = 16.7 m/s
t= time = 5 s
a= acceleration = ?

a=v-u/t
a= 16.7-22.2/5
a= -5.5/5
Therefore, a=-1.1 m/s^2

\huge \text{\mathbb{\underline {ANSWER}}}

Acceleration or Deceleration = \frac{10}{9} m/s^2

\huge \text{\mathbb{\underline {EXPLANATION}}}

Given that,

Initial velocity = u = 60km/hr

                             = 60 * 5/18

                             = 50/3 m/s

                             = \frac{150}{9} m/s

Final velocity = v = 40km/hr

                            = 40 * 5/18

                            = \frac{100}{9} m/s

Time taken = t = 5s

Since the bus is decreasing its velocity it is experiencing deceleration,

Acceleration = \frac{Change \ in \ velocity}{Time \ taken} =\frac{v - u}{t}

Acceleration = \frac{\frac{100}{9} - \frac{150}{9} }{5}  = \frac{100-150}{9 \times 5} =\frac{-50}{45} =\frac{-10}{9} m/s^2
