DEAR STUDENT,

The given data is about the time taken for each member (represented by alphabets) to copy some amounts of pages in a given time span.

A can Copy = 50 pages in = 10 Hours.

A and B together can copy = 70 pages in = 10 hours.

Given the same time span they've taken to copy different number of pages we can say that the second member that is "B" takes the credited time into the addition of "A and B" that is,

\bf{A + B = 70 \: \: Pages}

Since, the time span in cosiness of pages were same we'll just substitute the number of pages copied by the member "A" that is,

\bf{50 \: \: Pages + B = 70 \: \: Pages}

\bf{B = (70 - 50) \: \: Pages}

\bf{B = 20 \: \: Pages}

The number of current copied pages are in terms of a selective time span of "10 hours", we need to find the number of copied pages for "26" in how much "time?" that is,

\bf{\dfrac{26}{20} \times 10}

\bf{\dfrac{260}{20}}

\boxed{\bf{B = 13 \: \: Hours}}

\boxed{\bf{\underline{\therefore \quad B \: takes \: a \: total \: of \: 13}}}

\boxed{\bf{\underline{hours \: to \: copy \: 26 \: pages}}}

Which is the required solution for this type of query.

Hope it helps you and provides a insight for calculations for finding the number with respect to time !!!

Q: if a can copy 50 pages in 10 hours and a and b together can copy 70 pages in 10 hours . how much time does b takes to copy 26 pages.

.
solution :
------------

the pages a can copy in 10 hours = 50

.
when they worked together:
--------------------------------------

.
(a + b )'s 10 hours work = 70pages

.
(50 + b ) 's 10 hours' work = 70pages

.
b's 10 hours' work = 70 - 50

.
b 's 10 hours' work = 20 pages

.
b can copy 20 pages in 10 hours

.
so then,

.
b can copy 20 / 10 = 2 pages in 1 hour

.
thus , b can copy 26 pages in

.
= 26 / 2 = 13 hours

.
Answer :
------------

b can copy 26 pages in 13 hours
